The Age of Stupid

L'Âge de la stupidité (The Age of Stupid) est un film documentaire britannique de la réalisatrice Franny Armstrong (McLibel), sorti en 2009.

L'acteur Pete Postlethwaite, nominé aux Oscars, incarne un homme vivant seul dans le monde dévasté de 2055, et qui regarde de vieilles images télé datant de 2008 en se demandant : Pourquoi n'avons-nous pas empêché le changement climatique tant que nous le pouvions ?

The Age of Stupid is a film by Franny Armstrong, director of McLibel & founder of 10:10, and John Battsek, producer of One Day in September. The film is a drama-documentary-animation hybrid which stars Pete Postlethwaite as the last person alive in the devastated world of 2055, watching archive footage from 2008 and asking: why didn't we stop climate change when we had the chance?

The film's UK premiere was on 15 March 2009 in a solar-powered cinema tent in London's Leicester Square.

The Age of Stupid was released in Australia and New Zealand on Wednesday 19 August 2009 with simultaneous green carpet premieres in Auckland and Sydney, linked by satellite to cinemas in the two countries.

The film was released internationally on September 21st and 22nd at the "Global Premiere". A green carpet, solar-powered cinema tent in New York was linked by satellite to 442 cinemas across the USA and to more than 200 cinemas in more than 45 other countries. Special guests included Kofi Annan, Pete Postlethwaite and Gillian Anderson. Popular musicians Moby and Thom Yorke performed live.
