Dynamics of benthic carbon turn-over in river beds at catchment scale: An eddy covariance O2 study

Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS), Biogeochemistry and Earth Science Department. Full Time, Fixed Term Appointment – 2.5yrs. Salary £26,213 - £29,372 per annum.

Scottish Association for Marine ScienceSAMS is looking to appoint a highly skilled and well organized individual to participate in a research project investigating the transport and fate of macro nutrients in the Avon river catchment area (Devon, UK). The main responsibilities of the appointed post doc will be to conduct in situ respiration measurement in river bed sediments, using the aquatic eddy correlation technique. The candidate will become part of a large international dynamic team of scientists from UK and Denmark, and will receive training in required skills for this post.

The location of this post is shared between SAMS and University of Southern Denmark (Odense, Denmark). The field work is going to take place in the Avon river catchment (Devon, UK).

The successful candidate should have a PhD in a relevant discipline, have field and experimental experience as well as in project management.
