PhD evolution: antibiotic resistance evolution/evolutionary consequences of mutation rate variation

I'm primarily looking for students  interested in doing theory projects, but I will also have wet lab space 
for experiments with bacteria. I’d be grateful if you could help me get  the word out to students who are completing an honours BSc or an MSc (or  equivalent).

These projects are flexible, and strong students are welcome to work  within the broad scope of modelling adaptation to changing environments,  evolution of drug resistance, mutagenesis, etc. I don’t have a website

I’m open to students with diverse backgrounds (e.g. math, physics,  biology…), ideally with strong mathematical and/or computational skills  and a keen interest in evolutionary biology. There are funding 
opportunities both for UK students (EASTBIO and NERC E4 doctoral  training programs) and international students (e.g. Darwin Trust scholarships from the University of Edinburgh, or any relevant  scholarships from the student’s home country). Please note that application deadlines are 5 January, but application packs for the  Darwin scholarships have to be requested earlier (13 Dec), so  international students in particular should get in touch as soon as  possible.
